FLORIDA SR22 Insurance Coverage Limits

In Florida, the SR22 insurance requirements include the following minimum coverage limits and duration:

Bodily Injury Liability Coverage:

Minimum coverage per person: $10,000
Minimum coverage per accident: $20,000
Property Damage Liability Coverage:

Minimum coverage per accident: $10,000
Duration Requirements:

For a first-time offense (DUI, driving without insurance, etc.): Continuous coverage for at least three years from the date of license reinstatement.
For subsequent offenses: Continuous coverage for at least five years from the date of license reinstatement.
It’s important to note that these are the minimum coverage limits required by the state. You can choose to purchase higher coverage limits if you prefer additional protection.

Additionally, if you let your SR22 policy lapse or cancel it during the required duration, the insurance company is obligated to notify the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), which can result in the suspension of your driver’s license.
